the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell

The wood
o
I am always intrigued by looking deeply into wood. This photo of the
side of our barn is just filled with so much data. Pine is a soft-wood, but this
is heart pine, and that is a different animal all together. Can we even imagine
heart pine in this world today? The trees were chosen and the farmer took the
tree to a local mill where it was made into boards practically by hand. This
barn is well over a hundred years old, and still tough. It has been through
numerous hurricanes and still standing. But, that being said, it is suffering.
Its spine is broken. When the hurricanes came a few years ago, it was just ripe
to have its tin torn away. You would not think that a hurricane that hit New
Orleans and one that hit Beaumont would affect us here in North East Texas, but
they did. When the winds reached us it was still very powerful. Joe likes to
tell the story of me demanding that he go outside at the height of the heaviest
winds and move the stud horse to a safer location than the lot of this barn,
because the tin was flying off of the barn. I could just envision him with his
head cut off by flying tin.
That was the beginning of the breakdown of this amazing barn. Joe and
I are not able to climb the roof of a barn like this and replace the tin. The
angle of this barns slope is so steep. We had to let it go at the time, and then
time passes and before you realize it the barn is in serious trouble. There is
no saving it now by merely patching tin here and there. It is in serious
trouble, but its heart remains. Looking again at the boards on the south side,
on an early morning when the sun is rising in the east, I am warmed by the
beautiful tint of the aged boards in the sunlight. I see the striations of the
blade on the boards and it is running across the grain of the wood. The grain,
the patina, this is the heart which through years and years of weathering is
standing out and exposed. Nails are passing through, horses have chewed, cows
have leaned on, dirt dobbers and barn swallows have mudded, rain and sand and
wind have eroded, rats, raccoons and opossums have climbed on these boards. And
they have all chiseled away at the heart of this aged pine, but it still
remains. It is still exposed looking for more days of the
same.
I am amazed because when I put my hand on the wall of the barn and
feel the lines of the grain, it feels warm in the morning sun, and I feel it
moving. It is taking a long and laborious breath from way down in its most
hidden and recessed inner depths. It has life. That life continues, even broken
and falling, even eroded and softened...It has life.
When all seems lost, it matters not what condition we are in, Christ
Jesus offers us a life of newness and eternity.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is
perishing...For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which
are not seen are eternal."

REACHING OUT
How many times do we pass by those who are reaching out in need. Sometimes not recognizing the signs of the individual, sometimes afraid to stop and minister to them for loss of time, or because we are afraid of them. Or maybe because we feel we will be seen by others.
Jesus is that one who is reaching out. Would you turn your back on Him?
Jesus talked with the woman at the well, even though advised by His followers that she was unsavory. Jesus allowed Mary to bathe His feet in oils and her tears and dry them with her hair, as others at the table looked on in astonishment. Jesus did not worry about the gossip.
Jesus said for anyone to throw the first stone at the rejected individual if they were without sin themselves.
Just exactly where do we fit in this picture? Are you ready to lay down your life for another?
Let us say a prayer.
"Dear Lord Jesus,
Forgive us, Lord, for wanting to be like you, but not trying hard enough. Forgive us for thinking of ourselves first. Lord, let us die to ourselves, and let You live through us. No matter what, Lord, give us the humility to see need in the people who are around us and give us faith to tell them about you. Lord, You are the Messiah, the Son of God, the most powerful, and all knowing. Love us Lord, as we love You and forgive us our sins. Amen"

Jesus Calling by Sarah Young
"Thank Me for the conditions that are
requiring you to be still. Do not spoil these quiet hours by wishing them away,
waiting impatiently to be active again. Some of the greatest works in My kingdom
have been done from sick beds and prison cells. Instead of resenting the
limitations of a weakened body, search for My way in the midst of these very
circumstances. Limitations can be liberating when ...your strongest desire is living close to Me.
quietness and trust enhance your awareness of My Presence with you. Do not
despise these simple ways of serving Me. Although you feel cut off from the
activity of the world, your quiet trust makes a powerful statement in spiritual
realms. My Strength and Power show themselves most effective in weakness." ~~

Dear Beloved.
I welcome the times we spend together, for you are My precious child. You are
growing and unfolding every day into a more magnificent creation. You are filled
with unlimited potential as you let My presence be expressed in and through
everything you do. My blessings are always with you, and I love you. So let go
of worry, let go of fear, let go of any anxiety that might hold you back. Keep
your mind and your heart focused on what you know is right for you, and I will
take care of the rest.
When you are finished with what is yours to do this day, come home to Me. I will give
you the rest you need to feel refreshed and ready to begin again. Jesus

Whosoever Believeth...
1 John 5
1Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is
born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not
grievous.
4For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that
overcometh the world, even our faith.
5Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of
God?
6This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by
water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy
Ghost: and these three are one.
8And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the
blood: and these three agree in one.
9If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the
witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.
10He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not
God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.
11And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
12He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
13These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that
ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of
the Son of God.
14And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according
to his will, he heareth us:
15And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions
that we desired of him.
16If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he
shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death:
I do not say that he shall pray for it.
17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.
18We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God
keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.
19And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness.
20And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we
may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus
Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
21Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.

Praise God, Praise be unto Your Holy name, You are most High. Lord, please ease our pain and comfort us in our time of sorrow. Lord, bless us as we do Your will. Hold the dogs of night from our door, bend the trees in our path so that we may cross. Lift us above ourselves and into Your presence. We are Joyful in Your delight. We love You, God, and sing joyful prasies to You. Our spirit soars!
You are gracious, God. You love us when we do not deserve to be loved. You made the Earth and the Heavens and the waters and You called it our world. You made the most wonderful garden for us, and You made us and placed us in this Garden of Eden. We disobeyed.
Even before You created the world and us you were there. Jesus Christ, man and God in one, You were there. You planned our salvation. You came to Earth as a babe born to woman. You lived and grew and worked among us. You taught and showed us what we should do to be saved. To believe in You, Jesus, to have a relationship with You. To know You as our Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ.
And then You sent the Holy Spirit to live in us. To reside in our mind. An indication of what Christ would have us do. A comfort to our soul. A teacher that we might strive to be more like Christ.
Praise God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

1We then that are strong ought
to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
2Let every one of us please his neighbour for his
good to edification.
3For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it
is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.
4For whatsoever things were written aforetime
were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the
scriptures might have hope.
5Now the God of patience and consolation grant
you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:

God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.

received us to the glory of God.

7My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
9I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
10For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

OUR PRECIOUS REDEEMER. THANK YOU LORD FOR SAVING OUR SOULS. LORD, YOU PLACED YOURSELF ON THE CROSS, YOU TOOK ON ALL OF OUR SINS; PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE. YOU DIED FOR US, AND THEN YOU AROSE, SO THAT WE MAY LIVE ETERNALLY WITH YOU. WE MAKE THE CHOICE TO DO SO. LORD, YOU ARE SO GRACIOUS AND WE ARE SO SINFUL. WE NEED YOUR SALVATION, THERE IS AN EMPTY HOLE IN OUR HEART THAT CAN ONLY BE FILLED BY YOU. YOU UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING ABOUT US. YOU KNOW EVERYTHING BEFORE IT HAPPENS. YOU KNOW OUR INTERNAL STRUCTURE AND OUR EXTERNAL CELL AND ALL OF THE PARTS THAT MAKE US. NOTHING IS HIDDEN FROM YOU. EVEN THEN YOU STILL LOVE US. YOU LOVE US NOT OUR SIN. FORGIVE ME, LORD FOR MY SINS.
LAY YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD OVER THEM, LORD, I PLEAD IN THE NAME OF YOUR BLOOD, JESUS. THE BLOOD OF YOUR AGONY WHICH CAME OUT IN THE DROPS OF SWEAT IN THE GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE ON THE MT OF OLIVES. THE BLOOD YOU SHED AS YOUR FLESH WAS SCOURGED AND TORN FROM THE LEATHER STRAPS WHICH HELD METAL AND BONE. THE BLOOD YOU SHED FROM THE CROWN OF THORNS AS THEY SHOVED IT ON YOUR HEAD AND THROUGH YOUR SCALP. THE BLOOD YOU SHED FROM YOUR HANDS AS THEY WERE NAILED TO THE CROSS UNDER THE SOUND OF THE HAMMER AND NAIL PUNCTURING AND SPLITING FLESH AND BONE. THE BLOOD YOU SHED FROM THE NAIL PIERCING YOUR FEET, LORD, ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER. THE BLOOD YOU SHED AS THEY PIERCED YOUR SIDE ON THE CROSS, AND YOUR BLOOD (OUR SALVATION) AND THE WATER (OUR SANTIFICATION) STREAMED FROM YOU.
LORD, THIS BLOOD WHICH YOU SHED FOR US COVERS OUR SURRENDER, COVERS OUR PAIN, COVERS OUR MIND, COVERS THE WORKS OF OUR HANDS, AND THE WAYS OUR FEET GO. IT COVERS EVERYTHING. THANK YOU, LORD. WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT YOU DO FOR US. YOUR LOVE IS EVIDENT.
LORD, YOU ARE OUR SAVIOR. FORGIVE US FOR DOUBTING. LEAD US IN YOUR PLAN. YOUR WILL WILL COME. AMEN
The Lord has blessed me in many ways, many ways. I would like this website to be a praise to our creator. For without Him, we would not be.
INTERCESSOR, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD, MY BELOVED FATHER, I PRAISE YOUR NAME O GOD. I ASK ONLY FOR MY DAILY NEEDS; NURISHMENT, SHELTER, CLOTHED PROTECTION FROM THE ELEMENTS. LORD, I HAVE NEED TO BE FORGIVEN, AND THEN LET ME HOLD NO GRUDGES, BUT ONLY FORGIVNESS FOR ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN. MY PRAISE BE SWEETNESS ON YOUR EARS, FOR I LOVE YOU, LORD, AND REJOICE IN YOUR NAME.
THANK YOU, JESUS, FOR USING ME ANOTHER DAY.
MY HOLY REDEEMER, LAMB OF GOD, HEAR MY PRAYER DEAR JESUS. THE END IS COMING SOON, LORD, AND I LOOK WITH JOYFUL BUT HEAVY HEART, LORD, FOR THE DAY WE WILL BE WITH YOU. THE HEAVY HEART IS FOR MY LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS WHO DO NOT KNOW YOU AND YOUR AMAZING GRACE. LORD I PRAY FOR THE CONVICTION OF THEIR HEART. WHEN YOU MAKE YOURSEF KNOWN TO THEM I PRAY THEY WILL OPEN THE DOOR. YOU ARE OUR ONLY SAVIOR, THE FATHER WE CALL OUT TO AND YOU WILL FILL THAT EMPTY HOLE IN OUR SOUL WITH YOUR SPIRIT. AMEN AND AMEN
THANK YOU, DEAR LORD, FOR LOVING US EVEN WHEN WE DID NOT LOVE YOU
SAVIOR, AS WE ARE BECOMING MORE AWARE OF THE END OF TIMES WE GATHER OUR STRENGTH FROM YOU, JESUS, TO MAKE KNOWN YOUR HOLY NAME AND WITNESS TO THOSE WE LOVE AND THOSE WE KNOW NOT. DEAR LORD, WE CLAIM IN YOUR NAME THE SOULS OF OUR FAMILY MEMBERS AND LOVED ONES. HAVE MERCY ON US, REDEEMER, AND SUSTAIN US, YOUR PRAYER WARRIORS, THROUGH THIS TIME OF CONFLICT AND STRIEF. WE ARE FILLED WITH JOY AT THE THOUGHT OF BEING WITH YOU IN YOUR KINGDOM.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR MANY BLESSINGS AND FOR GUIDING OUR EVERY FOOTSTEPS
Dear Lord, help us to have faith enough to believe You will answer our prayers. Give us the patience to wait for answers to appear. Keep us from giving up and taking matters into our own hands. Instead, enable us to trust that You have heard our prayers and will answer in Your perfect way and time. Help us to rest in peace during times of waiting. In Jesus' Name we pray. Amen
AMEN
